9 - We're Off!

Travel can be exciting, especially when going standby. We left for the airport at 5am in order to get on the list for the 6:45 to Houston. Apparently a dozen other folks had the same plan! After watching 2 flights load and leave, we were seated on the 10:20 and on our way. Buckled in and ready to go, I turned to find out that Cora had lost another tooth. For those who know her, you understand what a tragic moment this was for her--tears and more tears. Yet, she did it all quietly as she snuggled in next to me, and survived yet another tooth loss. We arrived in Houston and were then listed on the next flight to LAX by noon. By 6pm we arrived in LA, found a hotel and were ready to explore this area. Such a contrast to the area around the airport! Our hotel is older, with a 50's decor and directly across the street from Disneyland. So, after dinner and a walk, and realizing that our bodies thought it was 11pm, we crashed for rest to prepare for an exciting day at DL.
