11 - I'm Leaving, On a Jet Plane

6/27 (skip28) Today, we returned to Disneyland and the California park directly infront. Gerald has ridden in more pink cars than he ever imagined, met most of the Disney princesses, and now knows all the words to "It's a Small, Small World." After thoroughly wearing out ourselves at fun with Cora, we packed and prepared to fly out of LAX at midnight. The cutest little Asian sisters sat watching Cora play with her new princess dolls while we sat in the airport. We invited them over to play and were able to visit with the parents. It was an interesting conversation as we learned how the girls' dad will not buy them any toys such as the dolls because "they will tear them apart and besides, they hands shouldn't be with such play." He went on to tell us that the children are enrolled in summer school and will begin after their trip. It was clear that the parents very much love their children and wanted the best for them, yet it was a bit sad as well.
