14 - Taiyuan Here we Are

7/1 After a one hour flight from Beijing, we arrived in Taiyuan. It's a small city of only 1.5 million and they are friendly folks. We had problems with hotel arrangements as our agency had told us we'd be in the Grand Shanxi so my sister booked her stay there. Then last week, after we left, our agency announced they were putting us across town in a hotel we never heard of nor could find on the internet. But God was good and provided a way for us to change the arrangements; we are staying in the Grand Shanxi. God used Michael and Jerome, our Shanxi guide, to work out all of the problems.

This is a 4star China hotel, full of German and some French mining or steel engineers. According to our guide, China and France have a very strong relationship. We are among the first Americans to visit this city, so we draw a crowd whereever we go and when we eat outside of the hotel.

Well, off for a good night's sleep--tomorrow is the day we receive our new daughter!
